LOUISVILLE, KY. – Goodwill Kentucky teed off the first of six statewide golf scrambles on Monday with resounding success, raising more than $50,000 during the inaugural event at Quail Chase Golf Club in Louisville.

The scramble welcomed 19 teams for a day filled with friendly competition, community spirit, and lasting impact. Golf-lovers, Goodwill Kentucky supporters, and representatives from Louisville-area organizations came together in support of Goodwill Kentucky’s mission, including Title Sponsor Advanced Business Solutions, Presenting Sponsor Miletti Wealth Management, and other sponsors.

Goodwill Kentucky is hosting these golf scrambles as part of its efforts to raise funding for programs and services that help Kentuckians overcome barriers to employment, gain skills, and find pathways out of poverty. In addition to team awards, participants enjoyed raffle prizes, networking, and opportunities to learn more about Goodwill Kentucky’s mission to end poverty in Kentucky.

“Goodwill Kentucky golf scrambles are so much more than just a great day on the course,” said Goodwill Kentucky Director of Development Andrew Gillette. “They’re about driving change and building stronger communities. Every dollar raised helps fund our programs and services that help Kentuckians find pathways out of poverty.”

Goodwill Kentucky’s scrambles continue throughout September across the Commonwealth, with five more opportunities for golfers of all skill levels to get involved. Those interested can register at GoodwillKY.org/GolfScramble for one or more of the scrambles:

  • Georgetown – Cherry Blossom Golf Club | September 15
  • Morehead – Eagle Trace Golf Course | September 16
  • Bowling Green – Crosswinds Golf Club | September 22
  • Somerset – Burnside Island Golf Course | September 29
  • Paducah – Paxton Park Golf Course | September 30

Goodwill Kentucky’s fundraising momentum extends beyond the golf course. The organization launched its Giving Day Challenge in September. Throughout the challenge, the organization’s 12 Opportunity Centers will compete to raise the most support, with all efforts leading up to Goodwill Giving Day on October 1.

From golf scrambles in cities big and small, to Give for Good Louisville, to locally driven fundraisers in towns across Kentucky, every event serves a single purpose: to create pathways out of poverty. Together, these efforts strengthen families, empower individuals to overcome barriers, and help build a stronger, more self-sufficient Kentucky.
