Attended Donation Centers

What is an Attended Donation Center?

An Attended Donation Center (ADC) is an alternative to donating at our retail stores, making it easier than ever to donate and support our mission. A friendly Goodwill attendant will greet you at the ADC and help ensure a trouble-free visit so you can quickly get on your way.

Below are additional frequently asked questions about our ADCs.

Can I shop at the ADCs?

ADCs are for donations only. Customers are not permitted inside the ADCs.

Where are the ADCs located and what are the hours of operation?

We operate three ADCs in Louisville:

  • 9403 Westport Road
  • 4840 Dixie Highway
  • 2338 Lexington Road

The Westport Road and Lexington Road locations are freestanding ADCs open from 9 a.m. – to 9 p.m. seven days per week. The Shively location is a mobile ADC open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days per week.

We kindly ask that all donations be made during operation hours.

What items do you accept at the ADC?

We gladly accept new or gently used clothing, household items, décor, jewelry, accessories, books, movies, music, dishes, cookware, toys and more. Unfortunately, we cannot accept furniture, mattresses, box springs, large appliances, vehicle tires/batteries, paint or chemicals.

How do I value my donations for tax purposes?

You are responsible for determining the fair market value of your donations to report on your taxes. The IRS provides guidelines for estimating your donation’s value.

What happens to the items that are donated to the ADC?

Items donated to the ADC are transported to local Goodwill stores based on inventory needs. The items are then sold at Goodwill stores to help fund employment programs and career services for Kentuckians who have disabilities or other barriers finding or maintain employment. Nearly 90% of all revenue generated from our retail stores supports mission-related programming.
