LOUISVILLE, KY. – Goodwill Industries of Kentucky announced the opening of a second freestanding Attended Donation Center (ADC) on Thursday, December 28. It is located at 2338 Lexington Road in Louisville and is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days per week.
Earlier this month, the nonprofit opened its first freestanding ADC at 9403 Westport Road in Louisville. Goodwill also operates a mobile ADC at 4840 Dixie Highway.
ADCs are an alternative to donating at Goodwill’s retail stores, making it easier than ever to support the nonprofit’s mission to provide self-sufficiency resources to Kentuckians in need. A Goodwill attendant will greet donors at the ADC drive-thru and help ensure a trouble-free visit without the foot traffic of a Goodwill retail store. Donations will only be accepted during operating hours. Items donated to the ADC are transported to local Goodwill stores based on inventory needs. The items are then sold at Goodwill stores to help fund employment programs and career services. Nearly 90% of all revenue generated from retail stores supports mission-related programming.
