LOUISVILLE, KY. – Goodwill Kentucky officially announced a $100,000 grant from the Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana during a check presentation at its Downtown Louisville Opportunity Center on Friday, February 20.

The grant will be used to support Goodwill Kentucky’s barrier-reduction services, which include, but are not limited to, legal assistance, mental health support, digital and financial literacy, housing and transportation support, career coaching, and job-readiness training.

“This investment from the Legacy Foundation allows us to strengthen our ability to remove the obstacles that stand between individuals and meaningful employment,” said Amy Luttrell, Goodwill Kentucky president and CEO. “Barrier-reduction services can be the difference between someone wanting to work and someone being able to work. This allows us to walk alongside more Kentuckians as they overcome challenges and find pathways out of poverty.”

Goodwill Kentucky was one of 21 Louisville-area organizations to receive fall 2025 grants from the Legacy Foundation, which is dedicated to the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of the six counties it serves: Jefferson, Shelby, Bullitt, Hardin, Nelson in Kentucky, and Clark in Indiana.

The nonprofit also received a $50,000 grant from the Legacy Foundation in 2024 to support its Work Ready Certificate program, a job-training program for justice-involved individuals reintegrating back into the workforce.
