Cassandra faced several challenges from a young age: growing up and aging out of foster care, becoming a single mother, and experiencing homelessness. Financial stability seemed out of reach, and at one point, she even had her child taken away from her.
Through Goodwill Kentucky’s Ignite 2.0 program, Cassandra found the support she needed. With the help of her career coach, Hannah, she addressed her barriers, gained access to important resources, and eventually secured employment.
Today, Cassandra is on a path to stability, with Hannah continuing to support both her and her family.
“Goodwill is not just a program—they are people, too,” she said. “…They’re there to help you. They’re there to make sure that you’re doing what you need to do for yourself, and not only that, they’re not just there for you. They’re there to make sure you do better as a parent, that you do better as a person, and I wouldn’t have come this far if I didn’t have (Hannah).”
