April is Second Chance Month, and marrie couple Jennifer and Tommy Simcoe both found their second chances at Goodwill.
Tommy started as a material handler at our Hikes Point store and is now the Louisville E-commerce manager. After beginning her career as a cashier and earning multiple promotions, Jennifer now manages our Hillview store.
When the Simcoes first came to Goodwill, they shared one unreliable vehicle, lived with Tommy’s uncle and both had dental issues and poor credit scores. Tommy and Jennifer have both taken advantage of the Cars to Work, Goodsmiles and financial literacy programs, and they are currently embarking on the journey of purchasing their own home. They both remain sober today.
“Our quality of like has dramatically improved,” Tommy said. “It means everything that an employer accepted us and gave us a second chance.”
