Goodwill Industries of Kentucky generated $30,685 by way of 782 unique donations on its second annual Goodwill Giving Day on October 1. The unique donations is a single-day record for the nonprofit organization.
Goodwill Giving Day, a day dedicated to fostering charitable donations to the nonprofit’s mission, gives existing Goodwill supporters and those new to Goodwill’s mission an opportunity to learn more about its impact and donate monetarily to support its many life-changing initiatives.
On Goodwill Giving Day, Goodwill employees, spearheaded by the nonprofit’s development team, held phone-a-thons across the commonwealth to generate support. Its Somerset Opportunity Center earned 185 donations, and its Bowling Green and West Louisville Opportunity Centers earned 94 and 91 donations, respectively.
Goodwill’s inaugural giving day in 2023, which only took place in Louisville, yielded 293 unique donations totaling more than $23,000.
