We at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, in partnership with Accenture, are now offering a new virtual reality job-readiness tool for individuals looking to reenter the workforce.
Project Overcome, an addition to the mock interview sessions in our Good Start Program, offers participants the opportunity to go through a simulated mock interview by way of a virtual reality headset, as well as hear from others who overcame challenges they faced on their job search as a result of their background.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 650,000 individuals are released from prison each year – and approximately two-thirds are rearrested within three years. Project Overcome intends to address this by offering realistic scenarios often encountered by individuals who were formerly involved with the justice system.
We’re one of 10 Goodwill organizations selected by Goodwill Industries International to implement Project Overcome. Each year, more than 82,000 people impacted by the criminal justice system achieve their education and employment goals with holistic reintegration services from Goodwill organizations.
