Through Goodwill Industries International, we at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky were recently awarded a grant from The Caterpillar Foundation to help individuals find jobs in Mayfield and the surrounding areas of Murray and Paducah.
The program, which has to date been spearheaded by Career Coach Margie Silva, provides adults, including Goodwill employees, with digital skills needed to retain and advance in their current employment or reengage in the labor market.
Participants, depending on their digital skill level, determined by a NorthStar assessment, have access to basic and advanced digital skills training through which they will learn to develop resumes, an email address, navigate the internet, search for jobs and more. The career coaches connect participants with platforms such as Indeed and LinkedIn, as well as local employers.
