LOUISVILLE, KY. – Goodwill Industries of Kentucky has been awarded a $25,000 grant through the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government’s Nonprofit Capital Grant Program in the category of operational investments. It is the first grant to be issued to Goodwill by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government since 2006.

The grant will be used to purchase a gently used vehicle to support its Van to Work program at the Goodwill Lexington Opportunity Center. This program is designed to help remove barriers to employment for Goodwill clients in need of transportation to and from training or work in the Lexington and Fayette County area.

The award represents the full amount requested by Goodwill. A total of $143,000 was available for the grant program’s category of operational investments.
