LOUISVILLE, KY. – Every year during the first full week of May, Goodwill organizations across the U.S. and Canada celebrate Goodwill Week. The observance raises awareness of the Goodwill mission to transform lives through learning and the Power of Work®. This Goodwill Week, which runs May 4-10, 2025, the organization is encouraging you to “Get to Know Your Neighborhood Goodwill,” which is the theme for the week. Goodwill is shining a light on the extraordinary ways people are transforming their lives with life-changing job opportunities and educational programs for a brighter future, with resources provided by Goodwill Kentucky.
Individuals in need of vital career and other support services don’t have to look far, as there are nearly 70 Goodwill retail outlets and Opportunity Centers across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. In our community and as a neighbor, Goodwill Kentucky plays a vital role in helping job seekers and career advancers in the commonwealth with barrier reduction, job training, placement, and other support services.
Our vital job and career services are made possible through your donations. Ninety cents of every dollar earned from your donations are poured into workforce programs aimed at helping lift Kentuckians. When you give to Goodwill, you do a lot of good.
“Goodwill believes that everyone in the commonwealth deserves the chance to thrive and have access to economic opportunities,” said Amy Luttrell, Goodwill Kentucky president and CEO. “We are so grateful to our donors, shoppers, employees, and job seekers who help bring these realities to life for Kentuckians every day.”
For more than 101 years, Goodwill Kentucky has helped people find jobs, support their families, and feel the satisfaction that comes from stable employment. Each year, Goodwill Kentucky positively affects more than 20,000 individuals.
