Another Way
Another Way is designed to address the gap in the labor market by providing individuals with visible needs opportunities to gain job skills and work-based learning opportunities rather than ask the public for money at stoplights and other rights of way. The program currently operates in Louisville and Bowling Green.
The Another Way team canvasses highly trafficked areas known for panhandling and offers up to 22 individuals daily the opportunity to work five hours and earn $50 compensation for their time. Engagement and relationship building takes place as workers and staff work together and share lunch. Individuals return daily to Goodwill Opportunity Centers, where they will have the opportunity to address barriers and connect to both internal and external resources.
