Our Another Way program is designed to address the gap in the labor market by providing individuals with visible needs opportunities to gain job skills and work-based learning opportunities rather than directly engaging other people for money on sidewalks and other rights of way.
The Another Way team canvasses highly trafficked areas known for panhandling and offers up to 13 individuals daily the opportunity to work five hours and earn $50 compensation for their time. Engagement and relationship building takes place as workers and staff work together and share lunch.
Individuals return daily to Goodwill’s Career Resource Center at 909 East Broadway, where they will have the opportunity to address barriers and connect to both internal and external resources.
