At Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, we are proud to celebrate our Latinx and Hispanic American employees during National Hispanic Heritage Month and beyond.
Alejandra, a member of our New Circle team, moved to the United States from Mexico 19 years ago. She joined our Goodwill family in 2019.
Alejandra is proud to be a part of our mission, helping change lives every day. She loves how our work helps the community, and she takes advantage of the many opportunities created through her career coach and our programs.
Alejandra said her motivation to work hard is her family. Some of her family still lives in Mexico, but she said Goodwill feels like family, too.
“Goodwill can work with my scheduling to be with my kids because family is important. I feel that I have a support system,” she said. “I like that it doesn’t matter your disability or barriers, you’re always a part of Goodwill.”
Alejandra still practices her culture regularly, including smashing piñatas and setting off fireworks in celebration of Christmas on December 24. We are proud to celebrate Hispanic heritage with Alejandra and each of our Latinx and Hispanic American employees.
