Holly was living a good life with reliable employment before drugs began to take over.

During her time in drug court, Holly learned about our programs and services, which ultimately led to her employment at our Paducah store. She said her teammates are like an extended family.

“They actually, truly care about their employees,” she said. “They show it in all kinds of aspects. … They do a lot to give back to the community. You see it more hands-on here. It’s really refreshing to see all they can do.”

After beginning as a part-time employee, Holly was quickly hired as a full-time production clerk, allowing her to focus on one job. She was promoted to Team Lead one year ago – an accomplishment she said wouldn’t have been possible without her leadership team, including Senior Store Manager Kenna Elkins.

“She works with my drug court schedule,” she said. “She works with my flexibility. In return, when they’re shorthanded, I will come in early or stay late because she is always so quick to work with me on that. She knows drug court comes first.”

Holly now lives in her own home and owns her own vehicle. She said she feels “seen.”

“I didn’t have anything when I got out of jail,” she said. “I lived at Oxford House sober living for a while. I didn’t have a vehicle; I didn’t have a job. For them to give me this opportunity, and for them to offer me a full-time position to keep me – that let me know that I was a valuable employee.

“They believe in me when I don’t.”
