LOUISVILLE, KY. – Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is excited to announce a new partnership with Maryhurst at its West Louisville Opportunity Center. Maryhurst, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency dedicated to empowering children and families in greatest need, will be joining forces with Goodwill at its state-of-the-art facility to offer its services to the West Louisville community.

The co-location aligns with Maryhurst’s aims to enrich the lives of youth, adults and families by providing quality mental health and therapeutic services via its Renewal Program. By co-locating to Goodwill’s West Louisville Opportunity Center, centrally located at 28th Street and Broadway, Maryhurst will be well-positioned to offer a comprehensive range of services that address various behavioral and emotional needs.

The collaboration between Maryhurst Renewal and Goodwill signifies a strong commitment to supporting individuals in West Louisville, a community that has experienced decades of disinvestment.

“Maryhurst is thrilled to be joining the Opportunity Center in West Louisville, where Goodwill has assembled some of our community’s most outstanding resource providers,” said Maryhurst CEO Paula Garner. “Adding Maryhurst Renewal mental health services will deepen the Center’s already significant capacity for making a positive impact on the health and well-being of all visitors.”

The West Louisville Opportunity Center serves as a hub for community resources, job training and education programs. With the addition of Maryhurst to the center, individuals and families in West Louisville will have access to a wider range of services aimed at addressing various needs and fostering personal growth and development.

“Maryhurst Renewal has been a stellar partner for Goodwill within several of our career and reintegration services, where adding mental health support has been a key ingredient for success,” said Goodwill West Louisville Opportunity Center Director Emery Lee. “We’re glad to be welcoming them to this new role at the Opportunity Center.”

A community support associate from Maryhurst Renewal will work from a dedicated office space at the West Louisville Opportunity Center beginning in early December 2024. The associate will serve as a first-line mental health support available on a walk-up basis to the Center’s hundreds of monthly visitors.

Available therapeutic services will include coping skill development and practice, communication and social skill building, calming techniques, treatment planning and referrals to clinical therapy.
