Earlier this year, the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council awarded Goodwill $400,000 to facilitate a new housing program called Hand Up for Housing. Through the program, Goodwill helps eligible clients obtain stable housing, pays their first month’s rent and connects them with resources at our Lexington Opportunity Center. Read more about the program here.
Rosa (center) and her twin boys were our first housing placement under the new program.
Rosa’s family experienced hardship after her mother, Carmen, unexpectedly passed away. But Goodwill was there to offer her a hand up amidst her grief.
