Why give to Goodwill Kentucky?

Kentucky Gives Day is a statewide day of giving that brings people together to support nonprofits making a difference across the Commonwealth.

Early giving is open now, and we are proud to be part of it.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support Goodwill Kentucky’s mission of helping Kentuckians find pathways out of poverty through programs and services like job training, education, reentry support, expungement services, and other resources that help people move forward.

If you do one thing for Earth Day, make it this: Don’t throw it away.

The average American throws away more than 80 pounds of clothing every year. Most of it could have been reused.

Last year alone, Goodwill Kentucky kept 60 million pounds of items out of landfills.

To put that into perspective, that’s roughly the weight of 150 commercial airplanes. 🤯

That’s what happens when people choose to donate instead of toss, and shop secondhand instead of buying new. Simple decisions like cleaning out a closet or picking up something thrifted are what actually reduce waste.

This Earth Day, choose to give items a second chance. ♻️

Tony Hoffman had the entire room captivated as he shared his journey through justice involvement, addiction, and rebuilding a life rooted in purpose.
From incarceration to becoming an author, treatment provider, and one ot the world's most sought-atter mental health and substance use speakers, while also achieving his dream of reaching the Olympic stage as the coach for the incredible Brooke Crain in the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, his story is a powerful example of what's possible through second chances and the right support.
